The Liverpool Uni gig is was more of a 'Halloween Ball" (albeit two days early) than a gig as such, and many there were sadly more interested in each other than the live music which was on offer.

I did notice quite a few people giving more than a passing glance at the 'flyers' we left on every table though, so hopefully some of them will go away with an idea of just how excellent a band mesh-29 really are.

Set List
1: Cigarette
2: Uptight
3: Wide Awake
4: Over The Barricade
5: White Light
6: Alive
7: Waiting For The Day.

The other band (Zombina & The Skeletones) sounded pretty reasonable at their soundcheck but I didn't really get to hear them over the general hubbub when they played. They all wore 'appropriate' - for their name and the event theme anyway - skeleton bodysuits.

Crewe M Club is a great venue, well presented and very well equipped (or so the band assured me - I wouldn't have a clue!). I do know that the sound quaility was indeed excellent.

Unfortunately I couldn't find my scribbled 'set-list' when I got back to my Travelodge, so all I can provide is a list of songs played (the memory is like a sieve these days so these are not in the exact order played!)

Waiting For The Day
Uptight
Wide Awake
My Brand New Lullaby
White Light
Worse For Wear
Alive
Close My Eyes
Passenger Seat
Over The Barricade ("hybrid" version - started as the live piano version, then full band. I thought this worked very well)
Cigarette

Encore
Great Balls Of Fire (the first time I've seen them do this - a very energetic and enjoyable performance indeed!!)

A very enjoyable evening. Roll on the Cavern Club in Liverpool tonight.
