I've been following the very talented multi-instrumentalist Patrick's career for some time now, but only seen him live twice before last Sunday (once at The Scala and once at The Cockpit in Leeds). I've also been happy to make a very small contribution (via the Bandstocks site) towards the recording of his last album 'The Bachelor'.
My sister and Brother-in-Law (who live in Seattle) had seen Patrick play a show over there on my recommendation - and were so impressed they'd flown pretty much diagonally across America to catch two more shows on his US tour (in Dallas and Austin in Texas!)
Sio when Patrick announced a one-off show at the London Palladium, it was obviously fated that this would be on the very day that Fiona & Jim arrived in London from Seattle on the way to visit our parents in Bradford.
I was therefore poised on the ticket booking site the moment they went on sale, and managed to secure fourth row seats so we had an excellent view of what proved to be one of the best gigs I've ever been to.
As not many here will be familiar with Patrick's work I won't piffle on for ages, but will just post links to a couple of reviews (one with photos) of Sunday's show, also the link to his myspace site, so that anyone interested can read further.
